Ottawa County Divorce Records

Divorce records are documents that prove the dissolution of a marriage in Ottawa County. These records comprise every paperwork filed during and those generated by the court during a divorce case, including:

  • Complaint for divorce
  • Summons
  • Verified statement (FOC 23)
  • Record of divorce (DCH 0838)
  • Fee waiver (MC 20)
  • Affidavits and declarations
  • Child and spousal support orders
  • Divorce decree

The 20th Circuit Court Family Division is the custodian of all divorce records in Ottawa County. These records are public records and are available online via the MiCOURT Case Search portal. Users will need a name, case number, or professional number to find a divorce record. They can also select a case status, case category, and filing date to narrow their searches. Anyone who is unable to locate a divorce record through this portal or is dissatisfied with the information retrieved from the website may email the court at circuitcourtrecords@miottawa.org to request additional information about the divorce case.

Paper copies of divorce records cannot be obtained online or by email. Interested parties must visit the courthouse during business hours and use the free kiosk to print plain copies of divorce records. However, certified copies may be obtained only from the records staff upon payment of the applicable fees. The information commonly found in Ottawa County divorce records includes:

  • Case detail (case ID, court location, case entitlement, the name of the judge of record, filing date, case status, and the date the case was closed)
  • Party details (the full names of the divorce parties, age, part type/number, names of their attorneys, answer date, service date, disposition, and disposition date)
  • Hearing type, date, and officer
  • Financial orders
  • Event date, description, number, party/count, and comment
